About Me

Hello!

I’m Lisa — a painter, fairy maker, and creative soul living at the foot of the Campsie Fells in Scotland (also known as the “crooked fairy hill”). My work is all about rediscovering that spark of childhood wonder — the part of us that once believed in magical creatures, secret doorways, and the possibility of fairies hiding just out of sight.

My creative journey started in costume design, where I once upcycled vintage wedding dresses and breathed new life into forgotten fabrics. That love for reimagining the ordinary never left me — and it’s now deeply woven into my art practice. I paint landscapes, magical scenes, and tiny glimpses behind the veil: enchanted forests, glowing fairy lights, wildflower meadows, and the hidden beings that might live there.

Everything changed after I broke my wrist — a frustrating pause that unexpectedly gave birth to something beautiful. From that healing time, my Daily Art Challenge was born. I made a promise to paint every single day, and that small act of devotion turned into a magical creative ritual that now connects me with hundreds of kindred spirits around the world.

When I’m not painting tiny originals or turning secondhand treasures into enchanted artefacts, you’ll find me creating my own sculpted Fells Fairies from foraged nature finds and upcycled textiles — often using tartan, tweed, and upholstery scraps that would otherwise be destined for landfill.

Art for me isn’t just about paint — it’s about storytelling, connection, and joy. I host beginner-friendly art workshops for adults and children, encouraging everyone to make time for themselves, their imagination, and their creativity — no experience needed, just curiosity.

Outside the studio, you might spot me in one of my many pairs of cowboy boots, living life with a bit of sparkle and a lot of whimsy. I also love line dancing (yes, really!) — it’s how I shake off the paint and bring a little rhythm to the week.

So if you’re drawn to tiny magical moments, enchanted places, and art that feels like a hug for your inner child… welcome in.

Let’s make the world a little more magical — one brushstroke at a time. 🎨🧚‍♀️🌿
