Daily Art Challenge - Day 129 of 365 - 7th July 2025
Today’s piece was inspired by a photo my mum sent me—a field bursting with Fireweed, a wild summer plant that grows in great numbers across Scotland.
It reminded me that I haven’t painted one of my petal-covered, textured pieces in ages. This is actually a style and technique I developed early in the challenge, and it felt really good to return to it.
I painted a soft, minty green-blue background to contrast with the pinky purples of the fireweed, letting the colours bounce off each other to create a vibrant, joyful piece. A celebration of texture, colour, and that untamed summer beauty only nature can bring.

Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
