Daily Art Challenge - Day 134 of 365 - 12th July 2025
It’s so hot here today that I thought I’d paint something simple... but you know how that goes. Once I got started, I was having far too much fun to stop!
Today’s mini is a tangle of branches and leaves—layer upon layer of rich green—just how it feels to stand beneath a thick summer canopy. And right in the centre, the tiniest peek of blue sky and glowing sun. But the real stars of this piece? Two bright red cherries, ripe and juicy, hanging low from a branch.
They’re inspired by a local wild cherry tree—usually picked clean by the birds, so it felt a little magical to spot two perfect ones still there. A small moment of everyday wonder, captured on canvas.
