Daily Art Challenge - Day 145 of 365 - 23rd July 2025
While we were away, we stayed in the most beautiful stone cottage, its walls covered in trailing wisteria and surrounded by wild cottage garden blooms.
Old stone steps led to a charming stable-style door, and I couldn’t resist capturing it while I was there — with quick sketches and soft little watercolour studies.
But this place stayed with me… and today, I brought it to life in acrylics.
Aptly named Swallows Cottage, I added two swallows soaring across the sky — returning to their nest in the eaves, just as they must do every year.
A quiet, nostalgic moment… and a special addition to the challenge.

Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
