Daily Art Challenge - Day 291 of 365 - 16th Dec 2025
Today was one of those days where I sat down with no real plan… and then the magic just happened.
I set out to paint something - no expectations, no pressure - and somewhere along the way a whimsical winter wonderland began to appear. A bright winter sun bursts across the sky, flooding the scene with light. Five snow-covered pine trees stand quietly in the frozen ground, while a tall birch tree frames the edge of the piece like a gentle guardian of the forest.
In the foreground, a small berry bush glistens with frost, its red berries catching the light like tiny winter jewels. Snow drifts softly through the sky, and a few subtle glowing orbs twinkle among the flakes - the kind of magic you only notice when you slow down and really look.
These are my favourite paintings to create… the ones that arrive without force, when imagination takes the lead and the brush simply follows. A peaceful moment. A breath of winter magic.
