Daily Art Challenge - Day 302 of 365 - 27th Dec 2025
We’re still wrapped up in that gentle lull between Christmas and New Year, when the days blur together and everything feels a little slower. So today, I gave myself permission to paint something simple, calm, and familiar — something that didn’t ask too much of my tired festive brain.
I chose a close-up of Eldric’s hooked lantern of fireflies.
Hung from its old iron hook, the lantern glows softly, not with flame, but with dozens of tiny fireflies drifting and dancing inside. Each one carries a spark of quiet magic, lighting the forest paths for those who know how to look. Eldric says the fireflies choose the lantern themselves, drawn to its warmth and purpose, and that they only glow for those who truly belong in Faefern Forest.
It’s a small moment. A pause. A breath of magic in the stillness — and exactly what I needed today.
