Daily Art Challenge - Day 304 of 365 - 29th Dec 2025
I’ll be honest… today felt a little foggy. The light fades so much earlier now, I’m painting later into the day, the school holidays are in full swing, family visits, festivities everywhere — and I just couldn’t quite find my rhythm. But somehow, between all of that, this little painting quietly found its way onto the canvas.
Deep in the heart of Faefern Forest, beneath the tangled roots of an ancient enchanted tree, a tiny house revealed itself. I think it belongs to the Deep Root Court, home of the royal Porcini clan. Built from mud, twigs, and pebbles and softened by creeping plants and moss, it feels less like a palace and more like a secret woodland cottage — humble, warm, and full of quiet magic.
I can just imagine the Porcini princesses here, gathering petals and greenery, weaving flower crowns beneath the sheltering roots while the forest hums softly around them.
Even on days when inspiration feels elusive, Faefern always seems to know exactly what I need to paint.
Perfect gift for any occasion .
All items are made in Scotland, UK
Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display - a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
Thank you so much for your interest in my art, I hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
