Daily Art Challenge - Day 306 of 365 - 31st Dec 2025

It’s New Year’s Eve - or Hogmanay as we call it here in Scotland - the very last day of the year. At the stroke of midnight, we welcome in the 1st of January with fireworks lighting up the sky, and it felt only right to celebrate that magic on canvas today.

I painted bright, joyful fireworks bursting in colour above the shadowy silhouettes of Faefern Forest, their reflections dancing across the treetops as the old year fades away and a new one begins. It’s a moment full of hope, endings, and beginnings - and I can’t help but wonder what traditions the Mushwood folk have for seeing in the new year. Do they gather under the trees? Light lanterns? Make wishes on falling sparks?

Here’s to fresh starts, quiet magic, and another year of stories waiting to be painted.

Perfect gift for any occasion .

All items are made in Scotland, UK

Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display - a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.

Thank you so much for your interest in my art, I hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
