Day 313 of 365

£27.50

Daily Art Challenge - Day 313 of 365 - 7th Jan 2026

Today I put my tester oracle prompt cards to the test. I shuffled the deck and pulled four cards - one from each suit - and let them guide the painting.

The prompts were:
earthy tones, moonlit atmosphere, add texture, and an enchanted tree.

Would I have painted an enchanted tree anyway? Yes.
Would I have chosen earthy tones? Probably not - I’d usually reach for blues and greens.
Would I have added a moon in this kind of forest scene? Unlikely.

And yet… here we are.

The texture prompt nudged me to spend more time on the bark of the tree and to add a richly textured, foliage-filled bush in the foreground. The moon shifted the mood entirely, and the earthy palette grounded the whole piece in a way I wouldn’t normally choose.

In the end, it still feels like me - but with just enough unexpected choices to make it exciting. And that’s exactly what I hoped these cards would do.

Perfect gift for any occasion .

All items are made in Scotland, UK

Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display - a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.

Thank you so much for your interest in my art, I hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
