Daily Art Challenge - Day 160 of 365 - 7th August 2025
Today I returned to a favourite floral muse — the hydrangea — with a focus on texture and detail.
Using a textured canvas, I layered deep greens through too soft, leafy light tones, creating a rich backdrop of foliage.
At the centre, one oversized hydrangea bloom in shades of purple and blue, made up of dozens of tiny petals — soft, layered, and dreamlike.
And hidden among the leaves… three delicate fairies appear.
Glowing softly, almost ghost-like, they hover in quiet wonder, their presence barely there — a gentle nod to magic we sometimes overlook.
It’s been a while since I painted fairies like this, and I think they might be making a comeback…

All items are made in Scotland, UK
Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
