Daily Art Challenge - Day 176 of 365 - 23rd August 2025
Today’s inspiration came from a few lovely requests — so many of you asked for an owl as part of my woodland animals series that I couldn’t resist giving it a go.
I’ll admit, I’ve never painted an owl before… but this felt like the perfect time to try. My usual magical fantasy forest became the backdrop, with a soft glow in the distance that might just be the moon peeking through the trees.
Perched on a branch, not one but two owls appeared — an adult and a little baby — watching quietly over the forest. To finish the scene, I added warm, glowing orbs of light drifting through the air, wrapping the painting in that touch of woodland magic.
This one feels extra special, like a quiet story unfolding under the moonlight.

All items are made in Scotland, UK
Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
