Daily Art Challenge - Day 353 of 365 - 16th Feb 2026
It was actually so much fun to paint the final piece in this little seasonal tree series… winter
I chose to paint it as a cold, crisp January day, using lots of soft greys and cool blues. A low winter sun hangs in the sky with a few wisps of cloud, and the ground is lightly sprinkled with frost. It felt too cliché to blanket everything in snow, and this version feels truer to many real winter days — bare, quiet, and still. That subtle frost adds just enough magic to this tiny artwork.
Tomorrow I’ve decided to create a bonus painting for this series, because I’ve loved working on it so much.
