Daily Art Challenge - Day 358 of 365 - 21st Feb 2026
Something completely different today… I went underwater.
Recently I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of researching shrimp tanks. Our well-established aquarium has slowly lost its inhabitants to old age, leaving just one lone resident behind. It felt like the perfect time to give the tank a fresh start - to create a peaceful little community, centred mostly around shrimp, plants, and calm, natural balance.
Today I added a few bottom feeders and brought home what can only be described as a small underwater garden. So before I begin aqua-scaping, I found myself inspired to paint the world I’m about to create.
Today’s mini is a coral reef scene, filled with flowing aquatic plants and a gentle shoal of fish moving together through the water. It feels calm, quiet, and full of life - a reminder that entire magical worlds exist just beneath the surface.
Now… time to build one for real.
