Daily Art Challenge - Day 360 of 365 - 23rd Feb 2026
Here lies my heart…
Today we said goodbye to one of our little cats. She went peacefully, but it truly felt like she was holding on just long enough to say goodbye to Molly, her best friend.
We rescued Blue when she was around 3 or 4 years old, found alone on the streets in the snow. She became part of our family, and for the last 17 years she has been a constant, gentle presence in our lives.
We are heartbroken. It’s going to be a tough few days.
But I knew I had to paint her.
So today, I painted Blue sleeping peacefully in the sun… at the edge of a pale blue forest, surrounded by delicate blue flowers and soft, glowing orbs. It felt like the only right way to honour her - to hold her in colour and light.
I cried while painting this. But it helped. Just a little.
Now it’s time for love, hugs, and family.
Goodbye, beautiful Blue. You were deeply loved. Always.
