Daily Art Challenge - Day 112 of 365 - 20th June 2025
Today’s magical inspiration comes from another vivid scene shared by the brilliant FGAuthor, pulled from her fantasy novel:
“Illryith is the city of pleasure. The Red Mile stretches as far as the eye can see. Scarlet buildings, surrounded by ornate French-style balconies and fences, like the sister New Orleans forgot. Lights strung between them illuminating the revelry, as the taste of desire hung in the air.”
For this painting, I leaned into the deep reds and glowing golds of the scene—lanterns lighting the mile, buildings steeped in warmth and mystery, and a hint of mischief in the air. The architecture gave me a chance to explore curves, balconies, and rich decorative detail, with a magical twist, of course.
This one feels like it hums with life and hidden stories…

Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
