Day 117 of 365
Daily Art Challenge - Day 117 of 365 - 25th June 2025
After a hospital check-up this morning—still keeping tabs on my healing wrist—I found unexpected beauty in the middle of an ordinary day.
A wild Scottish thistle stood tall, vivid purple against the muted greys of the urban landscape. The sky was heavy with rain, the kind that softens the world, and in that quiet moment, a little spark of imagination appeared.
I pictured a tiny fairy in a flowing green dress, clutching that thistle like a treasure. Rain sweeping around her, fireflies—or maybe little glowing orbs—dancing in the air.
Now, I’ll be honest: painting actual figures, especially full fairies or human forms, is well out of my comfort zone. It’s something I’ve always found challenging. But this challenge is about showing up, growing, and pushing past those limits. So I did.
Today’s painting stretched me. But it also lit me up. And now, this magical little scene lives on canvas—a reminder that growth comes when we dare to try.
Perfect gift for any occasion .
All items are made in Scotland, UK
Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
Thank you so much for your interest in my art, I hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
