Day 120 of 365
Daily Art Challenge - Day 120 of 365 - 28th June 2025
It’s been almost two weeks since I painted a forest or tree—which, if you’ve been following along, you’ll know is quite a stretch for me! So today, I gave in to the pull of the woods.
I headed up to the local fairy wood to revisit one of my favourite trees. It's an ancient oak—gnarled, weathered, and full of character. Almost dead, yet somehow still thriving. Its branches twist at right angles like something out of a storybook, defying gravity and logic in the most magical way.
I painted this very tree in the early weeks of this challenge, back when it was still spring and the forest was bare. But today, it stood in full summer dress, bathed in rich greens and dappled sunlight. A familiar friend transformed by the season.
There’s something special about returning to the same subject at a different time—seeing it with fresh eyes and capturing its new story.
Perfect gift for any occasion .
All items are made in Scotland, UK
Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
Thank you so much for your interest in my art, I hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
