Daily Art Challenge - Day 326 of 365 - 20th Jan 2026
On this morning’s walk, I caught sight of a distant farmhouse sitting quietly across rolling fields, with a streak of bright yellow cutting through the sky. It instantly reminded me of Highland crofts, and I knew I had to paint it.
This subject is a little outside my comfort zone - away from the forests and trees I’m usually drawn to - but I’m honestly so happy with how it turned out. A peaceful Scottish landscape, calm and open, with ploughed fields in the foreground ready to be planted for spring. It feels hopeful, grounded, and full of quiet promise.
Sometimes stepping away from what feels familiar brings the most rewarding surprises.
