Daily Art Challenge - Day 337 of 365 - 31st Jan 2026
It’s Saturday again, and if you’ve followed my journey for a while, you’ll know that weekends are often my gentler painting days - something a little easier, a little quicker, to give my brain and hands a rest.
A few days ago, while painting little bunny Moo Moo in her mushroom hat, I absolutely loved the colours and textures that emerged in the background before the bunny went in. So today I decided to revisit that feeling and let it become the whole painting.
Using those deep burgundy red flowers as an anchor, I built up a canvas full of textured wildflowers — layering paint, blobbing on colour, and letting shapes suggest flowers rather than carefully painting petals. It’s a reminder that flowers don’t always need to be precise to feel alive.
Burgundies, pinks, peaches and soft yellows sit on a bed of greens, creating a rich, joyful floral texture. An easy, restful paint — and exactly what I needed today.

Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display - a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
Thank you so much for your interest in my art, I hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
