Daily Art Challenge - Day 344 of 365 - 7th Feb 2026
Today marks one year since the day I broke my wrist - a moment that felt like a complete disaster at the time, but turned out to be the biggest turning point of all.
That accident pushed me to finally go all-in on painting, something I’d dreamed about for years but was always too scared to fully commit to. It was the spark that led me to start this daily art challenge and truly trust myself as an artist.
Out of curiosity, I looked back to see what I had painted on this day last year, just before the accident - and I had. A Valentine’s-themed fantasy forest for a YouTube tutorial. So today it felt only right to paint another piece inspired by that moment.
This new painting glows with a warm orange centre, surrounded by pinks and purples that gently form a heart-shaped clearing, with turquoise blues framing the edges. Looking at the two pieces side by side, it’s incredible to see how much my art, confidence, and technique have grown in just one year.
Sometimes the hardest moments quietly lead us exactly where we’re meant to be.
