Day 253 of 365
Daily Art Challenge - Day 253 of 365 - 8th Nov 2025
Today we finally visit the home of the Red Caps from the Mushwood Gang! I’ve imagined this cozy little spot in Faefern Forest for so long — and now it’s here.
A rustic wooden sign points the way to their door, while a string of glowing fairy lights twinkle between two trees, marking the edge of their overgrown garden. A stepping-stone path winds its way to a small set of stairs leading up to a bright red front door, where golden light spills from the windows and soft smoke curls from the chimney. You can just feel the warmth coming from inside.
Originally, I had planned to paint a little house carved out of a mushroom… until my daughter (very wisely!) pointed out that maybe that wouldn’t be ideal for our little mushroom inhabitants. So instead, the Red Caps live in a log cabin-style cottage, tucked snugly beneath the trees, surrounded by wild foliage and forest magic.
Perfect gift for any occasion .
All items are made in Scotland, UK
Painted on a mini 7cm x 7cm stretched canvas, this piece comes with its own little wooden easel for easy display — a tiny treasure to brighten any corner.
Thank you so much for your interest in my art, I hope you love it as much as I love creating it.
